MONTANA ELK AND DEER COMBO
This hunt takes place on the Blacktail Ranch just outside of Wolf Creek, MT. The Blacktail Ranch is an 8,000-acre family-owned ranch located where the mountains meet the prairie, at the base of the East Front of the Continental Divide. We also have other adjoining ranches that we hunt. The elevation is between 5000 to 7500 feet. The terrain consists of rolling mountains and timbered canyons. Hunting is done on horseback, in 4X4’s or on foot this hunt is fully guided a maximum of 6 hunters in camp for 6 days. You will also enjoy great accommodations and home cooked meals.
Mule Deer
We have excellent mule deer hunts for bucks that average 22" to 24" with an occasional 26" to 28". We have several large ranches leased for these hunts. We also have some bird hunting on these same ranches for sharptails, pheasants, prairie chickens, and blue grouse. If you would like to add another big game animal, pronghorn antelope may be added to this hunt. The antelope bucks average 13" to 15". This is an excellent trip for father and son or husband and wife. Success on these trips usually run 95%.
Whitetail
We have leased several great ranches for our whitetail hunters. These ranches have different accommodations. Anything from an old ranch house where the hunters cook for themselves to a modern lodge style with a cook. Several of these ranches also have bird hunting available. It is not uncommon to see 100 head of deer with 15 to 20 being bucks. The bucks we have been getting average 135 to 145. We have also taken larger deer in the 160 to 170 class. Antelope may be added to this hunt. In most years, success on this hunt is 100%.
Antelope
Antelope can be hunted as a single animal or in combination with Elk and Deer in archery season or in the first two weeks of rifle season. We hunt on several different ranches for Antelope.
Archery
Archery season runs from early Sept. to Mid Oct. This to me is one of the most enjoyable times to hunt Elk, the bulls are in the rut and very vocal and on the move.

Mountain Lion
We conduct our Mountain lion hunts just north of Helena on the Helena National Forest. We have a cabin for accommodations. This hunt is done with dogs in the chase season in December and January. Hunting is done with snowmobiles, 4X4"s, and on foot.
